Saint Johns River Camp Jan 19, 2017 3 days and 2 nights on the Saint Johns River with Jim Durocher. Amazing. White Pelicans in the thousands, 80 gators from 6 to 10 feet some monster specimens to 12 feet. Purple Gallinule, Black Skimmers Limpkins, White and Glossy Ibis in the thousands…. We are very remote paddling our Kayaks about 25 plus miles thru Puzzle Lake area. Thousands of birds and wildlife

Off the Ocklawaha River Paddling a remote tributary (cedar creek) off the Ocklawaha River. Cedar creek parallels the Ock. This is our 2ed try this time from the other way. According to our GPS were less than a mile to completion. With too many portages ahead and night creeping in had to turn around and paddle back. Deep into a remote black water swamp is no place to lose the light. The monkeys are a far cry from Silver River where some say they escaped from the Tarzan movies. With Jim Durocher and Ernie Green.

At Tosohatchee At Tosohatchee. Yates trail to Florida trail to Jim Creek to Lake Charlie to Mud Lake. Mud Lake Trail to St. John’s. Off the beaten track.

Back on the St Johns Back on the St Johns again from Moccasin track to Lake Winder to upper St Johns river marsh. Bush whacked 1 miles through the amazing Wolf creek cypress swamp to find Wolf creek (pictured) then on to the old tram road. Not much left but it was perhaps an old rail designed to take out the cypress back at the turn of the century. Myself and Ernie Green. A place time forgot.

On lake Winder On lake Winder. Like paddling on glass. Every bird imaginable and not a human in site. Perfect.
